Everything in GGPoker is constructed to reduce regulars making money and to move them away from the site. The goal of GGPoker is to make a site that only fish will play on and play against each other while GG is charging the rake.
GG is Using the Same Strategy as Betting Bookies
What people think the betting bookies do is that they have preference if 1, X, or 2 happens, but the truth is, they don't.. what they care about is to get as many bets to any sign. You wonder why?
It is because they adjust the odds in a way that there is an equal amount of money on all sides, meaning if there is 100$ on 1 and $500 on 2, they are going to change the odds to attract bets in favor of number one so the final outcome cancels itself out meaning they take money from a sign that lost and give it to people who bet on a sign that won while taking the provision. That way, they reduce risk and variance of outcome for them; they don't care in most cases since they will be in profit whatever happens.
This is the same thing GGPoker dose, they are making games unbeatable for average regulars, and they are forcing them to switch to another site, so they have 95% fishes and 5% top regulars, which is meaningless in the big scheme of things, and fishes dont get discouraged from playing or destroyed by regulars, but they just circle the money between them while GG is taking a rake.
What is Their Gameplan?
It is to attract as many fishes by making the gameplay experience fun, with a lot of unexpected ways to win (GG care, GG cheers, Bad Beat Jackpot..), also taking rakeback percentage from regs and giving it to fish, implementing game formats like All-in or fold (limited edge for regulars if it is even possible to have an edge with extreme rake).
What are the Alternatives?
If you are in Europe, you should play on PokerStars since it has a decent pool, games are running, the best security, and a decent reward system, but since PokerStars left many European markets, the alternative is Ipoker, which is ok-ish since you can have 50% total rakeback with an affiliate deal or 35% without affiliate. And ofc all other sites have significantly lower rake than GGPoker.

Here, you can see the rake for all limits and formats of no-limit holdem. (GG rake is not accurate as it doesn't count the extra rake you will pay when you win hand preflop since it's the only site that rakes pots that are won in preflop). There is also 1 big blind you pay for every pot bigger than 20 big blinds for bad beat jackpot prize pool.
If you are looking for a soft site with great bonuses to play on, you should check out WPT Global, and if you decide to use our link to sign up, we will give you additional rakeback! Check the offer here.
We also have deals with other sites where we can offer you great VIP deals (CoinPoker, PokerKing and Champion Poker)
